I promised myself I wouldn’t let the Friday Sillies get out of hand, but here it is Friday afternoon and I read on MetaFilter about the Bookseller/Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year. In the past, winners of this prestigious award include Oral Sadism and the Vegetarian Personality (1986), Highlights in the History of Concrete (1994), Greek Rural Postmen and Their Cancellation Numbers (1996), and Butterworths Corporate Manslaughter Service (2001). You can vote for this year’s winner at theBookseller.com. I favor The Stray Shopping Carts of Eastern North America: A Guide to Field Identification which is currently in second place (I’d read that book!).
