Beer: Winter Shredder Brewer: Cisco Brewers Source: 12 oz. bottle Rating: ** (6.2 of 10) Comments: The Nantucket-made winter beer has a copper brown color with a thick head. The aroma is spicy and the taste runs the gamut from hoppy too malty too spicy and reverting to a bitter hoppiness for the aftertaste. Despite all those tastes the flavor is a bit thin. The beer leaves a gentle lacing on the glass. This is a decent winter beer without all the cliches of the genre.
The project continues with my favorite songs of 1983. Read the first post for the detail on this project.
This is another year where I remember the music well, especially the music I heard that summer in the car on my family’s Friday night outings to Lake Quassy amusement park in Connecticut.
Ashokan Farewell – Evan Stover, Jay Ungar, Matt Glaser, Molly Mason & Russ Barenberg
Blister In The Sun – Violent Femmes
Cruel Summer – Bananarama
Electric Avenue – Eddy Grant
Let The Music Play – Shannon
Let’s Dance – David Bowie
Shipbuilding – Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sunday Bloody Sunday – U2
Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) – Eurythmics
White Lines – Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
And my song of shame for 1983 is Never Gonna Let You Go by Sergio Mendes
No wonder why people hate the music of the 80s <shudder>.
Nevertheless, you probably have a favorite song or two from 1983. Let me know in the comments.
