Boredom: an interesting topic. While we all experience boredom, there’s very little research into the phenomenom. This short documrntary explores how school and work produce boredom and how it may be a cause for addiction and risk-taking behaviors, and reliance on screens for distraction. While Nerenberg challenges the viewer to stand up to boredom, the film is full of flashy, quick-cut stock footage that betrays a lack of conviction. I like this movie for asking questions about boredom, but the answers it provides seem to be built on quick leaps of logic rather than sound research.
