Cast: Annabeth Gish, Julia Roberts, and Lili Taylor
Year: 1988
When did I first watch this movie?: Late 80s
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: A terrific romcom that is funny and thoughtful, and possibly the best film ever shot in Connecticut.

Title: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

Cast:Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany
Year: 2003
When did I first watch this movie?: 2003, in the theaters
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: A fantastic seafaring story with great special effects and an even better chemistry between Crowe and Bettany.  Why did they never make a sequel?!

When did I first watch this movie?: circa 1990
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: The most true-to-life teen romantic comedy ever made.

Cast: Megan Follows, Colleen Dewhurst, Richard Farnsworth, Patricia Hamilton, Marilyn Lightstone, Schuyler Grant, and Jonathan Crombie
Year: 1985
When did I first watch this movie?: 1986
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: A fantastic adaptation of the classic Prince Edward Island coming of age novel.  Megan Follows will always be the most iconic Anne Shirley.

When did I first watch this movie?: mid-90s
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: Probably the best live-action movie created by the Disney studios with great performances by Andrews and Van Dyke.

Year: 1984
When did I first watch this movie?: 1998
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: The first of many improved mockumentaries involving Christopher Guest and one of the best.

Why is this one of my all time favorites?: A great book adaptation that mixes fantasy, romance, and comedy with a terrific cast and a highly-quotable script.

Why is this one of my all time favorites?: A movie that simultaneously showed that LGBTQ stories could be popular and gave a boost to Australian cinema.

When did I first watch this movie?: early 80s when I was way too young!
Why is this one of my all time favorites?: The thing that makes this movie great is that it’s not about the child possessed by a demon so much as it is about the relationships of the characters in the story.
