Comment Policy

I envision Books and Revolutionas a place on the internet to share ideas and reflections about all manner of topics.  I’d loved to hear your ideas as well, so please post comments early and often.

I have this wordpress blog set up so that any who posts for the first time will have their comments held for moderation.  I check in pretty frequently so your post should be approved fairly quickly.  After the first post is approved any subsequent posts will appear on the blog immediately (theoretically at least, it doesn’t always seem to work that way).  If you don’t see your comment right away, have patience as I’ll be along to approve it soon.

I’m pretty liberal in what I allow for comments.  If you want to disagree with me, please do so, I’ll probably learn something from it, but please do so in a respectful manner.  There are only two things I won’t tolerate in the comments:

1. Spam, that is any posts with unsolicited advertisements or links that direct to websites that have nothing to do with topic at hand, links that go to porn, and links that lead to spyware or malware.  Askimet is good at catching most of these and I quickly delete the rest, so don’t even bother trying.
2. Flaming and trolling.  Again, disagree with me if you like but do so respectfully and with evidence to back you up if you can.  Any ad hominen attacks on myself or other comments or attempts to disrupt discussion with hateful, spiteful, or inflammatory language will be deleted immediately.  Repeat offenders will be shown the door.  Luckily, in over ten years for blogging I’ve yet to delete a post for this reason.
