Beer Review: Allagash Sixteen Counties Ale

BeerSixteen Counties Ale
Brewer: Allagash Brewing Company
Source: Draft
Rating: **** (8.8 of 10)
Comments:

A golden/orange beer offering yeasty and grassy aromas.  The flavor is a complex balance of fruits, spices, yeast, and grains.  A smooth and robust beer.  I love it.

Comments: A yummy beer enjoyed on draft at the Doubleday Cafe in Cooperstown, NY.  A golden amber brew with a floral aroma, the beer has a bready, malt flavor with spices and hints of fruit, like apricot.  A very well-crafted and quaffable beer with ineffable qualities.

Comments: The beer has a clear, copper appearance with a thin head.   Aroma is lacking, just a hint of grainy sweetness.  The taste is sweet and fruity with hints of grain, dry with not much aftertaste.  Kind of feels like an everyday beer from a country known for exceptional beers.
