Beer Review: Jack’s Abby Big Red Mitch

BeerBig Red Mitch
Brewer: Jack’s Abby Brewing
Source: Draft
Rating:  ** (6.9 of 10)
Comments:  A different beer, a dark red almost blackish with a bitter grapefruit scent and aroma but balanced with an earthy maltiness.  There’s no lace and medium mouthfeel.  It’s different, in a good way.

Beer Review: Jack’s Abby Leisure Time

Beer: Leisure Time Lager
Brewer: Jack’s Abby Brewing
Source: 12 oz. bottle
Rating: ** (6.8 of 10)
Comments: This beer poured out is golden in color with a cloud hanging in the upper part of the glass resembling a jellyfish.  The aroma is a strong lemon citrus.   Flavor is a mix of bready sweetness, lemon, and spice.  The flavors are subtly bordering on bland.  It’s a pretty beer, good but basic.

Beer Review: Jack’s Abby Sunny Ridge

Beer: Sunny Ridge Pilsner
Brewer: Jack’s Abby Brewing
Source: 12 oz bottle
Rating: **** (8.1 of 10)
Comments: A beautiful golden beer full of busy little bubbles. The aroma is grassy and the taste has that pilsner tang of citrus and biscuits.  There’s light lacing on the glass and a light mouthfeel.  Very crisp and refreshing. This is a good interpretation of a classic beer style.

Beer Review: Jack’s Abby Cee-Lo

Beer: Cee-Lo
Brewer: Jack’s Abby Brewing
Source: Draft
Rating: ** (6.2 of 10)
Comments:  Although this beer does not seem to exist on the web, I swear that I did quaff a pint at a local pub recently. It’s a golden, clear and bubbly with a thin head. The aroma is a light, bready scent. The taste is sweet and creamy at first followed by bitter hops. There’s a medium mouthfeel and significant lacing on the glass. It’s a good beer and warms as you go.
