Beer Review: Cisco Summer of Lager

Beer: Summer of Lager
Brewer: Cisco Brewers
Source: Can
Rating: **** (8.4 of 10)
Comments:
Poured from a can, Summer of Lager grows a foamy head with lots of carbonation bubbling through the golden liquid. The scent is of fresh-cut grass, and the taste follows the nose with a grassy flavor followed by spicy hops and a hint of appe. Tufts of lace cling to the glass and finger-width of head still persists after settling in the glass. It’s a nice, refreshing beer and good for a warm day.

Beer Review: Cisco Brewers Winter Shredder

Beer: Winter Shredder
Brewer: Cisco Brewers
Source:  12 oz. bottle
Rating: ** (6.2 of 10)
Comments: The Nantucket-made winter beer has a copper brown color with a thick head.  The aroma is spicy and the taste runs the gamut from hoppy too malty too spicy and reverting to a bitter hoppiness for the aftertaste.  Despite all those tastes the flavor is a bit thin.  The beer leaves a gentle lacing on the glass.  This is a decent winter beer without all the cliches of the genre.

Beer Review: Cisco Brewers Bailey’s Blonde Ale

Beer: Bailey’s Blonde Ale
Brewer: Cisco Brewers
Source: 12 fl. oz. bottle
Rating: ** (6.3 of 10)

Comments:

Look – Cloudy, golden, carbonated, thin head

Aroma – Musty, earthy, floral

Taste –  good balance of malts and hops, bitter aftertaste

2nd look – no head, no lace,  still bubbly

Overall – a tasty, complex ale that leaves me with a good buzz.
