Beer Review: Peak Organic IPA Evergreen

Beer: Evergreen IPA
Brewer: Peak Organic Brewing Company
Source: Can
Rating: *** (7.7 of 10)
Comments: A cloudy golden/orange in color, this beer offers an appropriately piney aroma.  The flavor is grassy with hints of spice and a hop aftertaste.  It’s basically a liquid Christmas tree, and a like it.

Beer Review: Peak Organic Fresh Cut (Can)

Beer: Peak Organic Fresh Cut
Brewer: Peak Organic Brewing Company

Rating: ** (6 of 10)
Comments: This is a summertime beer that looks like golden sunshine with a bit of haze and smells of fresh-cut grass.  The taste is hop bitterness moderated with a little pepper spice.  The head deflated quickly and the beer has a thin mouthfeel.  This beer is bit too much on the bitter side for my taste but is a good summertime beer.

Curiously, I’ve reviewed this beer before from a bottle and liked it more then.

Beer Review: Peak Organic Citrus Saison

Beer: Citrus Saison

Rating: ** (6.8 of 10)
Comments: Getting ready for spring with this shandy-esque beer from Peak Organic.  The beer is a very light golden/straw color with LOTS of carbonation and a thick head.  The aroma is strong on lemon with hints of wheat.  Flavor is sour lemon with a bit of grapefruit but no too bitter.  The beer has a light mouthfeel, and settles down to a thing head with spotty lacing. A unique flavor and change of pace for me.

Rating: ***(7 of 10)
Comments: A copper-colored, sparkling beer with a juicy fruit aroma, the Pomegranate Wheat Ale offers a spicy coriander flavor up front followed by a sweet bread and fruit taste.  It’s a mellow beer with a nice balance of sweet and spicy flavors, with neither too strong.

Beer Reviews: Peak Organic Oak Aged Mocha Stout

Beer: Oak Aged Mocha Stout
Brewer: Peak Organic Brewing Company
Source: 22 0z. bottle
Rating: **** (8.7 of 10)
Comments: Is there such a thing as a dessert beer?  This is it.  The stout is a chocolate-brown with the sweet scents of vanilla and cocoa.  The bittersweet chocolate comes through in the flavor with a roasted coffee finish.  The dissipates quickly with no lacing.  Yum!
